The Truth Behind The Back Sleep Position For Infants

The present threat of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) among infants has created a stir not only to mothers, but to medical experts as well. Over the years, modern science have been looking for better sleeping position that can prevent such tragedy.

Among babies, sleeping on ones back is recommended as opposed to sleeping on ones stomach. It has been a popular myth that when babies are allowed to sleep on their backs, they are most likely to choke. This is actually not the case. Most babies do vomit or spit during sleep. When this happens, some believed that babies are prone to choking when they are in a back sleep position. The truth is - babies involuntarily swallow any fluid they produce while in sleep. Doctors state that there has been no instance where such incidents were increased with such sleeping position.

A distinguished medical organization, the American Academy of Pediatrics, recommended infants to sleep on their backs. Medical experts attest that the back sleep position can decrease the risk of SIDS. Modern research shows that the chances of acquiring SIDS among children were lowered dramatically by almost 40% each year if such sleeping position was implemented. It is actually beneficial for babies if they are in this position as they can easily move their arms and legs.

Babies who are 2- 4 months old are likely to shift positions, put them back to the back sleep position by carefully rolling them over. Another option is to carefully swaddle them in a comfortable blanket to prevent them from sleeping on their stomach. You can also get one of those special swaddling blankets available in the market.

At first, your babies may find it uncomfortable to sleep on their backs because they naturally sleep on their stomachs. It would be the parents or the guardians responsibilities to train them in the back sleep position. With enough practice, they would eventually make it a sleeping habit. When training your babies, remember to remind your relatives or babysitters who might put your child into sleep in case of your absence.

From Sports to Snoopy baby bedding, from Lily to Lace baby bedding todays parents-to-be are faced with an enormous amount of baby bedding choices on the web. Many parents use their crib bedding selection as the focal point of the nursery. They choose the perfect bedding for their baby then build the room off the colors of the selection.

As a parent you are left with the question of Where do I even begin?

The best way to tackle your search is to LIMIT your search. Here are some tips on helping you narrow down your search:

1.Start with a Theme - Think about a baby bedding theme you would like for your nursery - Sports, animal/jungle, floral, stripes and plaids, and moon and stars are just a few of the examples you will find. Once you have a theme, you are a headed in the right direction.

2.Is our baby a boy or girl or ??? If you know your going to be having either a boy or a girl, this part should be very easy! However if you are waiting for the surprise, There are many selections listed as neutral gender so you can choose a theme that is suitable for either a boy or a girl. Some parents wait to find out the sex of their babies first and then buy there bedding choice, but why wait? choose a neutral gender baby bedding collection for your baby to be.

3.Is my Crib Bedding In Stock? Some crib bedding can take a few weeks to arrive for at your door because most bedding is a special order drop shipped from the manufacturer. However, there are many many bedding items IN STOCK and AVAILABLE TO SHIP TODAY.

4.Know Your Vendors There are at least 25 different bedding vendors, some with over 80 bedding collections in all. To learn a bit more about two of our top selling vendors Lambs & Ivy and Kids Line, see below.

5. Accessorize! - Last but not least, you dont want to forget about the baby bedding accessories! Your baby bedding may the focal part of the room, but its the bedding accessories that bring it all together. Some main examples many parents choose for the babys room are listed below:

Hamper
Diaper Stacker
Window Valance
Musical Mobile
Wall Border
Lamp
Night Light
Rugs
Switch Plate Covers

Safety Note: You want the coziest bedding for your baby but heres what you need to know about safety. Although you may see some soft pillows or stuffed animals that look adorable with your matching set, keep them out of the crib! These and any other soft items can pose as a suffocation hazard for your baby.

You may also want to consider a sleeper or other sleep clothing as an alternative to blankets or quilts.

Hopefully this article has helped you in your search for the best bedding collection on the web. Choosing the right Baby Bedding may only be one baby step in the journey of what is to come, but remember - its all those little baby steps that get you where you want to go!

5 Internet Marketing Mindsets Required for Online Business Success

Many independent service professionals nonchalantly enter the Internet marketing game by throwing together a half-baked website without any plan and mistakenly believe that visitors will find them. Initially, my online business grew from word-of-mouth referrals from other clients rather than from any true Internet marketing. My website simply served as an online brochure detailing my services and my rates for several years.

Over time, I became tired of trading time for money. Upon gaining some time and experience in business, the independent service professional has a rude awakening that there are only so many hours in the day and consequently that limits the number of clients that can be served.

Despite all the useful information I'd absorbed over the years about expanding my business reach through the development of products that I could sell on my website, I just didn't want to devote the time necessary to create multiple streams of income for my business. However, as I began to see friends and colleagues do this successfully in their businesses, the light bulb finally went off, and I realized that this was my next step, as well. So, I bit the bullet and began to try some of the strategies and began to get quick results from what I had implemented.

In my own professional development as an Internet marketer, as well as from work with clients over the years, I've come to realize that there are 5 Internet Marketing Mindsets that must be in place for someone to be successful online:

1. Create content that can be re-purposed. The goals here is to create your content once and find multiple ways to use it or multiple ways of delivery. So, for example, if you have an Inspiration Line phone service in which you record an inspiring thought each day for your clients, you can record these calls and have them serve as a publicity tool by distributing them as a podcast. This will help drive traffic to your site and bring people into your marketing funnel. When you've accumulated enough recordings, you then sell a subscription membership so that the buyer receives a new inspiring thought each day via email or a direct-to-desktop service. Over time, you can categorize recordings by topic and then combine the recordings into multiple motivational CDs or .mp3 downloads and make them available for sale online. When you've been doing this for a year, perhaps you then parlay the recordings into a book or an inspirational card deck. Sometimes it helps to start with the end in mind.

2. Record everything that you do. Whether you're doing live events, radio or TV interviews, teleclasses, webinars, etc., it pays to record and have a permanent record of everything that you do. Having a digital video recording of yourself in a one-day live event can be packaged into a "home study" course. Teleclasses with transcripts can be resold individually or packaged together for a bigger product. Radio or TV interviews can be placed on your website to enhance your credibility and convince a meeting planner to pay you big bucks to come and provide a keynote speech. Open your mind to the possibilities for re-purposing your recordings.

3. Get yourself and your customers into a sales mentality. Many of my clients simply like to have their products sit obscurely for sale on their websites and do nothing to make their list members or website visitors aware of what they have for sale for fear of offending their visitors or subscribers. If someone is going to be offended because you're trying to sell to them, then just let them go. You don't need a list of tire-kickers who want to sponge all the free info that they can from you and never buy anything -- you'll never be able to stay in business that way.

I have to chuckle when I do a promotion and get an email from someone on the list who chastises me for "daring" to sell to them and notes that they much prefer to "decide" when they want to buy something from me and then they threaten to leave the list. I just respond that I'm sorry that they feel that way, but unfortunately I'm not a trust-fund baby, and that my hard-earned information has the same value as any info that they might get from their car mechanic, doctor, attorney, or accountant, and I've never seen any of those professionals give away what they know.

Creating a sales mentality means that you need to acknowledge that you're in business to make money through selling and that your customers need to become accustomed to having you sell and seeing things for sale all over your websites. This is no different than the trait needed for success if you were to own a brick-and-mortar retail establishment. You can still provide free and valuable information to your visitors, but reserve the right to take that info, create a unique packaging and title for pieces of info on the same topic, and put it up for sale.

4. Acknowledge that people will pay more for convenience and instant delivery online. Many times, as I'm trying to help a client determine the price for a product, they' object to the price I suggest because they compare it to a physical product that can be purchased in the local bookstore or online bookstore for less. The "buy it now and give it to me instantly" mentality that is prevalent among online shoppers dictates that you can charge a higher price for an electronic product than a physical product because the shopper can fulfill his/her need for instant gratification and receive the electronic product in mere seconds. Wouldn't you rather do that instead of having to get in the car to make a trip across town to buy the product or waiting a few days for the delivery of a physical product from an online store?

And, people will pay for convenience. I recently spoke with a client about selling her content that was ready available in various locations all over the Internet. She was concerned that no one would pay for the product since it was currently available online at no cost if someone were to look hard enough. I told her that many of her customers didn't know it was available online, and even if they did, they would have to invest a great deal of their free time to gather all the info in one place. Few of us have that luxury of time today. For most of us, if it's easy and convenient and will save us some time, we'll buy it.

5. Plan your business growth around your marketing funnel. Independent service professionals shouldn't live on the sale of their services alone. Trust me, at some point in your business, you won't want to do that any longer. You need to create a marketing funnel of your products and services that range in price from free to very expensive and base your marketing strategy around that funnel. Your online business success will depend upon people being able to "sample" your expertise before deciding to purchase your service.

Remember that it takes 7-10 "touches" before a prospect will turn into a customer. Give them several ways to experience your expertise, all the way from free to expensive, with any number of price points and options in between. Keep your marketing funnel in mind in all that you do and strategize how every new activity, whether that's creating a new product, writing another article, offering a new service, or being a guest on a radio show fits into your marketing funnel.

By adopting these 5 Internet Marketing Mindsets into your daily marketing mantra, you'll be well on your way to positioning your online business for many years of success!

An Overview of Microdermabrasion

From wrinkles to blotches, the appearance of our face is critical. While there are many treatments available, microdermabrasion is one with positives and negatives.

An Overview of Microdermabrasion

The field of plastic surgery is one of the fastest growing areas in medicine. New developments and techniques are constantly being developed to correct many different areas that are causing cosmetic concern in both the young and the elderly. One part of the body that causes considerable stress to people in a cosmetic way is the skin, specifically the skin of the face and neck. Wrinkles, discoloration, scars and acne all affect the way people look, which in turn affects their self esteem. Luckily, a new type of procedure is available to help erase these problem areas.

Microdermabrasion is not really a surgical technique, rather it is a non-invasive procedure performed in spas and plastic surgery offices that gives terrific results without the use of knives or lasers. Basically, microdermabrasion is the process of using an abrasive (rough) service to polish away the outer surface of the skin, known as the stratum cornea. Some of the substances that are used to accomplish this are jets of zinc or aluminum oxide crystals, or rough surfaces akin to very fine grade sandpaper.

When the mechanism is passed over the skin, the stratum cornea is literally sanded off, and it is then suctioned off (in a dust like form) with a small wand vacuum. Since this layer of skin is composed of dead and old skin cells, the removal of this skin surface doesn't hurt any of the important tissue underneath. It also does not hit any nerves, so no anesthetic is needed and microdermabrasion is not painful.

There are other things to consider about microdermabrasion, most importantly, what it can and can't do. After a course of microdermabrasion, your skin will be left looking smoother and glowing because you've removed the layer of dead, lackluster skin cells that was sitting on top of your healthy skin. You may see a reduction in fine lines and small wrinkles, as well as a reduction in the appearance of acne or raised scars on your face.

Microdermabrasion does not, however, get rid of large wrinkles, deep discoloration, or large deep scars. It is not a complete solution for acne, either; repeated treatments are required to treat acne and keep it from coming back. Microdermabrasion is a good alternative to more invasive skin procedures but only if you keep in mind its limitations.

Planning A Family Ski Vacation

It is time to plan a family vacation and everyone wants to go skiing. Do not worry, skiing is not as expensive as you might think, and there are numerous resorts that cater to families, offering a variety of packages designed to save you money. The problem will be choosing the right destination.

Most ski resorts have information websites. Start the planning process by accessing these websites to determine where you and your family might want to go for your family ski vacation. There are many different things to look for when choosing a resort. The absolute most important thing to look for is a ski school if someone in your family will need instruction. While most resorts do have ski schools, some do not. Do not make the mistake of choosing a destination where one or more of your family members wont have fun, simply because they do not know how to ski.

Next, take a look at the slopes, lifts, and trails. You want to make sure that the resort has something to offer everyone in your family. If the resort only caters to beginners, an expert skier will become quickly bored. If you have a snowboarder in your group, and there is no snowboarding park or terrain, that snowboarder will not be happy. There are resorts that serve all winter sports, so make sure that interests of your family are covered.

Lodging is the next thing to look at. You want to be comfortable, so where you will sleep at night matters a great deal. In most cases, there is a hotel right at the base of the slopes, but this is not necessarily the best or most affordable place to stay. Find out what your lodging options are for the area, and choose the one that is right for your family and your budget. If you will be staying farther away from the slopes, make sure that there is transportation to and from the slopes each day.

Your family will have many more interests that you will need to search for before deciding on a particular destination and resort. Some of those interests may be dog sledding, sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, or horseback riding. Resorts do offer these activities, but some do not, so be sure to ask about the winter activities, as well as the planned events during the time that you will be at the resort. This will help you plan a ski vacation that your family will enjoy and remember for the rest of their lives.

Ski Vacations What To Pack

If you will be traveling for a ski vacation, it is often difficult to know what to pack. You may not even have a problem knowing what to pack, but instead have a problem figuring how to get everything that you need from your home to your destination. Skis do not easily fit into suitcases, and if you are flying, this presents a huge problem.

Start by knowing what is available at your destination. Is there a rental shop? How much are the rental fees for skis, boots, and poles. If it is reasonable, and you dont mind skiing with rented equipment, this is a viable option and it makes packing and traveling much easier.

If you do not care for rented equipment, there is another option. Find out if there are any ski shops in the area. There usually are. Get prices on skis, poles, and boots, and then ask if they buy used equipment. If they dont, ask if there is anyone near by that does purchase used equipment. Call that place to get an estimate on how much you could get for barely used ski equipment. Figure the difference in the money you will spend on the ski equipment, and the money you will get for the used equipment when you are finished with it. If it is not much more than what it would cost you to rent the equipment, go for it!

Ski suits, ski jackets, and sweaters can be very bulky, and hard to pack. These items will take up a lot of room in your suitcase, and leave less room for other clothing and essentials. If you are trying to pack for a two week ski vacation, it will be impossible to fit everything you need into one suitcase.

There is a way to solve this. Call the lodge or resort where you will be staying. Tell them that you need to ship a package, for yourself, to them, and that you need that package to be there when you arrive. Ask them if they will hold it for you at the desk. In most cases, they will. Next, get a box, put all of your ski suits, your ski jacket, and any other bulky items in the box, and ship it to yourself, in care of the lodge or resort. Shipping can be overnight, two day, or three day depending on how far it must travel. Depending on how much the box weighs, you will usually pay less than fifty dollars to ship a package in the continental United States, which is a lot less than you would pay an airline for extra overweight baggage.

Doing The Business With A Business Credit Card

Most people are used to making personal purchases with a credit card. It can help with money management and is useful for situations where you haven't got quite enough cash in hand. These are some of the same reasons why business owners should consider having credit cards for their businesses.

A business credit card can speed up the process of doing business. This applies to both online and offline transactions. It's a good way of paying for company purchases or making payments quickly.

Why Have A Business Credit Card?

Business credit card deals may be better than those available for personal credit cards. For example, there may be lower annual percentage rates (APRs), waiver of annual fees, higher credit limits and other incentives. Business credit cards also offer the same incentives as personal credit cards, such as balance transfer deals and 0% interest periods. And if you don't like the deal offered, it's always possible to negotiate.

Expense Tracking

Business credit cards are a good way of tracking expenses. This applies to both company expenses and the expenses incurred by employees on the company's behalf. They are also a good way of improving cash flow as business owners can pay for something today and have a grace period of up to 56 days before having to settle the bill.

Help For Employees

Employees can use business credit cards when travelling on company business to pay for flights and other travel, accommodation, eating out and entertaining. This means employees don't have to worry about finding money and being reimbursed. It also means that businesses can keep track of company expenses through itemised credit card statements. Businesses usually get a monthly statement where all such transactions are listed.

Choosing A Business Credit Card

When choosing a business credit card, it is best to pay attention to:

- The APR
- The credit limit
- The grace period
- Repayment options
- Annual fees
- Application fees
- Cash withdrawal fees

Since companies get monthly statements, they have to spend less time on administration. There's no longer any need to work out and check employees' expense claims, though some businesses may prefer to have that process as a backup.

Other Business Card Options

Business owners can also choose to have a business debit card. This means they can only spend what is in the business account. Another option is a business charge card. There is usually an annual fee for this and the balance has to be settled in full each month. Neither of these options is as flexible as a business credit card.

Some small businesses may start by financing their business with a personal credit card. However, this makes it more difficult to separate personal and business expenses. In addition, you will be personally liable for any spending on the personal credit card. A better option is to get a business bank loan or overdraft. This will offer better interest rates and will not endanger personal finances.

Laundry - The Neverending Story?

Laundry can be a huge time sucker and it's the task many Moms dread most. It doesn't have to be this way. Here are some tips to help you tame the laundry beast.

Minimize

Minimize the amount of laundry you do by creating new standards of "dirty". If you wear a pair of jeans for two hours then put on your shorts, are the jeans dirty? Not in my house. Pajamas put on a clean body at night after a bath and worn once aren't dirty either. Ditto for a towel that blots a freshly scrubbed body. Teach your kids that dirty means it has food or obvious dirt marks on it. The exception? Underwear of course!

Minimize sorting by putting a hamper in each bedroom that has 3 slots. One for whites, one for darks, one for mixed colors. For kids that are very young, try cutting out a large circle from construction paper for each category. Tape these on the wall above the hamper to show where to put each color. Alternately, you could buy inexpensive colored bins that match laundry colors.

Train your kids to bring you their dirty laundry at the beginning of each day or at some other time you choose. Don't turn socks right side out for laundering. Show your family members how to take off their socks without bunching them into an inside out ball. If they don't choose to listen to your sock lessons, let them turn their own socks right side out.

You may be able to minimize sorting even more by washing more clothes together. Many times light colors can go into the wash with mixed colors if you use cold water and the items aren't brand new. Typically only cheap clothing fades anyway so buy your kid's clothing from the nicer stores. It will last longer and wash well.

Some important questions to ponder: Do underwear need to be "folded" or can they be neatly placed flat in drawers? What about small T shirts and shorts? Do socks need to be matched up or can they be thrown into plastic boxes in a drawer and matched up by the wearer? Important questions, these!

Delegate

In some homes, the person who dirties the laundry is responsible for taking the laundry to the washing up area. If clothing doesn't make it there (meaning it's stuffed under beds, in corners of closets or otherwise lying on the floor), it doesn't get washed. Natural consequences work well for laundry. The first time your daughter doesn't have her favorite shirt that she just has to wear to the mall, she'll remember to get it to the laundry room. When hubby has no boxers, he may be motivated to get them in the hamper too. Developing "laundry on the floor blindness" is helpful for a Mom!

Older kids can be taught how to use the washing machine and dryer. Kids ages 2 and up can help with folding and getting clean laundry to their dressers. Even a toddler can "match corners" to fold washcloths and put their undies and socks in dresser drawers. Most youngsters think folding laundry is fun. Keep this myth going with them as long as humanly possible!

Don't Procrastinate

Some tasks don't take longer to complete if you procrastinate a bit. Vacuuming, for instance, takes roughly the same amount of time to complete whether you do it daily or weekly. Laundry is not one of these chores. Doing a load of laundry a day is preferable to tackling a mountain of dirty clothes that have set in stains, bad odors and maybe even mildew. Be sure to finish the job completely- putting the load into the dryer quickly so the clothes don't sour. Then remove from the dryer promptly for folding so they don't wrinkle.

As long as we continue to eat, sweat and move about, we'll have to deal with laundry. Hopefully these tips will help you spend a little less time dealing with the repercussions of being human!

Video Surveillance

The dependability and prevalence of video surveillance cameras has increased dramatically in the past decade. Numerous home and business owners have integrated video surveillance cameras into their security systems to ensure safety, crack down on regulations, and catch criminals in the act. Video surveillance is considered covert when the cameras are hidden or aren't identifiable. Video surveillance is largely legal in the United States, as long as it doesn't directly infringe on a person's fourth amendment right to privacy.

Uses of Covert Video Surveillance

"A picture is worth a thousand words". This saying rings true in court. According to a recent study, when a jury is presented with video surveillance footage, it is twice as likely to convict as when not shown video surveillance evidence. The strategic placement of covert video surveillance cameras aid in the detection and prosecution of vandalism, theft, child abuse, elder neglect, stalking, and harassment.

Some of the more common places to use covert video surveillance are homes, casinos, police stations, nursing homes, construction sites, prisons, hospitals and retail stores.

Monitoring the activities of nannies and household help with covert video surveillance cameras is a growing trend. Due to recent advances in technology, cameras are now small enough to be hidden in many home items such as teddy bears, house plants, clocks, and wall paintings.

Video Surveillance Laws

Most video surveillance is legal in the United States. The majority of video surveillance laws concern the invasion of privacy with the use of covert video surveillance. The use of covert video surveillance is particularly controversial in areas in which a high level of personal privacy is expected, such as locker rooms, dressing rooms, bedrooms, and bathroom stalls. There are some general guidelines to follow to ensure the legality of your video surveillance system.

Covert video surveillance is illegal when audio surveillance is also taking place, and if the it is done without the consent of those being monitored and the person being monitored by the video surveillance has a reasonable expectation of privacy.

Covert video surveillance may be illegal when the video surveillance encourages an illegal activity and the subject under video surveillance has a right to counsel, as when being questioned by law authorities and the person in charge of the premises have not given permission for video surveillance.

If you opt to incorporate a covert video surveillance system into your home or business, consult with a lawyer or your local law enforcement agency to ensure your compliance with local, state, and federal video surveillance laws.

Many independent studies in the United States and United Kingdom have suggested that video surveillance acts as a powerful deterrent, stopping crimes before they happen. Studies also show strong evidence that video surveillance systems can be an extremely effective tool in detection and prosecution.

Exquisite Logo Rugs 5 Unique Marketing Applications

There are times when you need a little extra punch. Brand identity is integral to any marketing strategy. A classy looking rug with your logo is another opportunity to create a valuable first impression of your brand name. Here are the top 5 applications.

If you want to make a special statement, then an average logo mat won't do. This is where the specialty of Custom Rug Fabrication enters the picture. It's really not too complicated. Typically the rugs are made from a high quality commercial grade carpet. The logo is then transferred onto a template. This template is then used to create the logo in carpet. The logo colors are carefully selected and then inlaid into the field carpet. If necessary, colors can be matched through the Pantone color matching system.

This custom fabrication of logo rugs has only recently become affordable to the larger audience of consumers thanks mainly to advances in technology. There is still a fair amount of handcrafting involved and this is the real reason why these rugs are so attractive. Another benefit is the broad range of sizes available. Literally any size and shape can be accommodated.

Here are the top 5 tested applications that we have seen bring in the best results:

1) Corporate Lobby This is the perfect opportunity to express the corporate logo with pride. Choosing quality over cheapness is the recommendation for this important space. This is where that valuable first impression rule applies

2) Tradeshows Logos can be large or small, depending on your booth size. Tradeshows are where all the action is, that's why so many companies choose to impress with their booth design. The logo can either be inset directly into the field carpet, or it can be featured as a separate area rug this rug can even be re-used at the company HQ.

3) Special Events A whole host of special events feature this approach in branding. Often the logo rug will be at the entrance of an Award Ceremony like the Oscars, or a Grand Opening for a retail outlet. These are unique opportunities to reflect the corporate identity with a certain elegance and style.

4) Common areas - within the business headquarters like hallways, elevators, entrances and exits are all potential areas that are decorated frequently with logo rugs. Other venues like sporting stadiums, churches, military bases and retail environments benefit from these unique rug applications

5) Wall Hangings The ultimate banner can be displayed on any wall for eye-level visual impact. The unique tapestry logo rug attracts visitors with its soft plush quality and always stays clean!

A note on rug maintenance: just as any carpet needs to be maintained, these rugs require frequent vacuuming and occasional professional cleaning.

If you're looking for that higher quality factor then it's certainly worth a closer look. The applications are numerous as we have observed here, ranging from lobbies, tradeshows, special events, most indoor common areas, as well as the ultimate banner tapestry.

New Color Innovations in Coneflowers Ready for 2007

The inveterate gardener enjoys the planning as much as the blooms--poring over seed catalogues; determining where the perfect spot for that new variety of flower is; the excitement of receiving the seeds or plants and deciding to take time off from work, or shopping or even such important chores as walking the dog and vacuuming the carpet. All these are set aside to enjoy the thrill of dirt under the fingernails.

For those of you who are aficionados of native American wildflowers, you may want to consider an old favorite which has become even more popular because of new varieties recently developed.

The Echinacea or Coneflower in its purple or white guise is well-adapted to semi-drought conditions due to its long taproot but can handle moist soil as well. It prefers a sandy loam, and will tolerate being moved, although care must be taken to avoid too much upset of the root system. The Coneflower loves full sun, and spring planting of the Coneflower seeds will result in beautiful blooms of purple or white in the fall season.

This is a plant which is not content to hover close to the ground. It proudly waves its spiny central cone at a 3 to 5 foot height. The name Echinacea comes from the Greek echinos which means hedgehog.

Exciting new colors are available in spring 2007. In addition to the traditional purple or white flowers, creamy gold, eye-popping mango and pale orange are high on the avid gardeners shopping list. Flowers with names like Sunset, Sunrise, Twilight, Harvest Moon and Sundown are just a few of the new colors. Echinacea flowers are sweetly fragrant to add enjoyment through another sense beside visual to your garden beds.

Home Equity Lines Of Credit For Starting Your Own Business

All the initial steps for starting your own business can easily be financed with the funds obtained from a home equity line of credit and the flexibility for repayment will provide you with the ease you need to concentrate specifically on your business instead on repaying the loan.

The characteristics of home equity lines of credit are perfect for this purpose.

In this article we will analyze the concepts of home equity and home equity lines of credit and explain why these particular lines of credit are perfect tools for starting new businesses and what the benefits that these financial products provide are.

Defining Equity

Equity is the difference between the current value of your property and any pecuniary obligations that it is guaranteeing. These obligations can be liens, mortgages, etc. The amount of available equity is obtained by subtracting the amount of the outstanding obligations to the valuation price of the property.

Thus, if you own a property that is worth $120,000 and your current mortgage balance is around $70,000 that means that you still have $50,000 of available equity on your home that you can use for obtaining a loan or line of credit and use it for any purpose you can think of. Following we will analyze home equity lines of credit for starting businesses.

Lines Of Credit for Businesses

Lines of credit are revolving sources of funds that can provide you with all the finance you need for starting a business if they are based on sufficient equity. The idea is that you are granted credit up to a certain amount limit which is guaranteed with your home equity. In the above example you would count with up to $50,000 on your line of credit to start your own business.

There is no need for you to withdraw the whole amount and as long as you dont request money, the line of credit wont generate interests. Youll only have to pay a small maintenance fee.

Moreover, say you withdraw $10,000, the interest rate will only be charged over that $10,000. Once you repay the amount, it will stop generating interests and you can withdraw that amount or any amount up to the credit limit whenever you want.

As regards repayment, it is also very simple. You will only be required to repay a minimum amount every month, just like with credit cards. This minimum almost always consists on the interests and sometimes a small portion of the principal. This provides you with a lot of flexibility.

When starting a business you cant be suffering pressure from lenders because you need to concentrate on generating income rather than repaying a loan. Thus, home equity lines of credit provide you with all the finance you need and dont asphyxiate your business with high monthly payments.

Once your running business generates enough income for you to cope with higher payments, you can start repaying the principal at your best convenience. Moreover, you can easily fix the interest rate (that is otherwise always variable) and turn the home equity line of credit into a home equity loan.

I Love Italian Wine and Food - The Molise Region

If you are looking for fine Italian wine and food, consider the Molise region of central Italy. You may find a bargain, and I hope that youll have fun on this fact-filled wine education tour.

Molise is a small region of central eastern Italy on the Adriatic Sea. It is one of the most unspoiled regions of Italy, about 90% hills and mountains. Its total population is less than a third of a million people, which makes it the second least populous region of Italy after the Aosta Valley. Molise was associated with Abbruzo until 1963.

Agricultural products include livestock, pigs, sheep, and goats, wheat and a variety of vegetables including giant celery. The coast furnishes seafood and fish. Polenta (cornbread) is as popular as pasta.

Isernia is the largest city with a population somewhat less than ninety thousand. This area was first settled about 700,000 years ago (not a typographical error) and is of archeological interest. The regional capital, Campobasso, was the site of major battles during World War II. If you love old European cities consider visiting Larino, even if it is not mentioned in major tourist guides. (Im not naming names.)

Molise devotes about nineteen thousand acres to grapevines, it ranks 18th among the 20 Italian regions. Its total annual wine production is about nine and a half million gallons, also giving it an 18th place. The region produces 3 DOC wines. DOC stands for Denominazione di Origine Controllata, which may be translated as Denomination of Controlled Origin, presumably a high-quality wine. Less than 4% of Molise wine carries the DOC designation. Molise is home to almost two dozen major and secondary grape varieties, about half white and half red.

Widely grown international white grape varieties include Chardonnay and Trebbiano (in particular the Italian Trebbiano Toscano subvariety). The best known Italian white variety is Falanghina, the main component in the wine reviewed below.

The best known strictly Italian red varieties are Montepulciano, Agliacano, and Tintilia.

Before reviewing the Molise wine and cheese that we were lucky enough to purchase at a local wine store and a local Italian food store, here are a few suggestions of what to eat with indigenous wines when touring this beautiful region.

Start with Taccozze alla Crema aAsparagi, Hand-Cut Pasta Squares in Asparagus Cream.

Then move on to Zuppa di Pesce alla Termolese, Seafood Pot from Termoli, a resort on the Adriatic Sea.

For dessert indulge yourself with Calcuini del Molise, Sweet Chestnut Fritters.

OUR WINE REVIEW POLICY While we have communicated with well over a thousand Italian wine producers and merchants to help prepare these articles, our policy is clear. All wines that we taste and review are purchased at the full retail price.

Wine Reviewed

Rami Di Majo Norante Falanghina Del Molise 2005 12.5% alcohol about $11.50

Ill start by quoting the marketing materials. Made from the well-known Falanghina grape (with a little help from the ubiquitous Fiano variety), this delviers fresh peach and apricot flavors with a good citrus spine. Its crisp and refreshing. And goes well with slightly spicy seafood or chicken, or makes an excellent sipping wine.

I first tasted this wine with fried chicken cutlets, rice, and corn on the cob. I found it smooth with apricot but no peach flavors. It had more of a citrus smell than taste. I added a cayenne pepper sauce to the meat, and the wine rose to the challenge.

I then tried Talapia filets cooked in an onion sauce with a side of green beans in tomato sauce. I added too much cayenne pepper sauce, which was too harsh for the wine and for the fish itself. However, even with a deadened palate the wine was pleasant.

In the presence of a commercial chicken pot pie with a chili and lime hot sauce (but not too much) the wine was citrusy and refreshingly acidic. On the down side, the wine was short.

Kube, also known as kibbe, is a Middle-Eastern specialty of balls of ground rice filled with ground meat that cooks slowly. The wine was an excellent companion, its acidity cutting the grease nicely. The word gossamer came to mind.

Sometimes we have to make compromises. As you can guess from the name, Pecorino Toscano is not a cheese from the Molise region. It is a sheeps milk cheese that has been made in Tuscany and neighboring Umbria for thousands of years. Soft Pecorino Toscano is white with a tinge of yellow, while semi-hard Pecorino Toscano is pale yellow. It is moderately strong smelling and has a complex nutty flavor. In the presence of this cheese, our was crisp and yet unctuous.

Final verdict. This wine is a winner. When making notes on this wine I mistakenly identified it as a DOC wine but I double-checked the label. It is not a DOC wine, but in my opinion is better than many DOC wines that Ive tasted.

Levi Reiss has authored or co-authored ten books on computers and the Internet, but to be honest, he would rather just drink fine Italian or other wine, accompanied by the right foods. Insider Poker Secrets: How to Avoid Bad Beats and Going on Tilt

Being on a tilt is a poker term used to imply the condition of a player when he is frustrated and on an aggressive losing spree. Sounds like a scary situation but do not be surprised if you find yourself on a tilt every once in a while.

Coming to a tilt situation is not hard but avoiding it is harder. Most players reach a tilt after they have suffered a bad beat. For instance, you had a great set of cards in a game; the flop was a set of reasonably good cards.

Assuming that these are great cards to play with and you decide to do some aggressive betting. Follow this up with a few more good cards. You end up betting a lot of money and finally your one of your opponent has a straight of a flush or something. You end up with potentially good cards but no-win and end up losing a lot of money. In poker, this would be a bad beat.

If you are someone who thinks really positive or just plain lose sight of ground reality, you may tend to bet in a very similar manner in the subsequent games. Since you are playing with opponents, a smart adversary will recognize your vulnerable situation and put you on the defensive.

A player, who in on a beat is quite a lonely and frustrated soul. Most likely, such players are likely to lose perspective of the game and end up playing on cards that would have otherwise been discarded. Any decent opponent will play the bluff at this and the beat player will lose more money. This is when he hits a tilt situation, where the losses far outnumber the wins.

If you are new to Texas Hold em bad beats, do not worry. To avoid bad beats, you can do some very basic things, by following tilt situation. Bad beats in Hold 'em are very common. This is especially so because the game is quite dependent on chance and there is no question of chance favoring one player and not the other but it sure seems like that sometimes.

The first rule when playing poker is to play calmly and never bet too aggressively, in the crazy sense. This is also a great way to avoid a bad beat. If you do not bet like crazy, you will not feel frustrated even losing a few dollars. Getting your hopes up and wagering money without substantial results can be quite a bad experience even for very experienced players.

The next situation to tackle if you do end up with a bad beat is to avoid a tilt. A single beat cannot do as much damage as a tilt. The moment you realize you suffered a beat, take break to calm yourself.

If you can leave the table altogether, do so just to unwind and take a break. If you are at home, go dig into the cooler for a cola or a beer. Take the break time to focus on other things. If you are in a casino, try to check out the games at other tables.

Anther smart thing to do to avoid a tilt is to fold your cards after a beat unless you are dealt a formidable hand. Most players should avoid playing unless they are dead sure it is a great textbook "monster" hand.

Are You Ready For Holiday Shopping This Year?

Know the holiday retail and spending trends

With the increase in gas prices, and the slow down of the housing market, you may think consumers will cut down on their holiday spending in 2006. But many reports and surveys have shown these concerns will have little to no impact on what consumers will spend this year. According to a report from the Radio Advertising Bureau, consumers have withstood challenges this year from energy costs, slow growth in jobs and softness in the housing market, and they will continue to be bullish about the economy and their own financial well-being. Overall spending is expected to be up for many key categories.

Gift Cards

Same as last year, gift cards are expected to be the top holiday purchase this year. Last year, 66 percent of consumers bought at least one gift card. Gift cards are an excellent idea if you are not sure what the person will like. However, many people think they are too impersonal. Retailers on the other hand, like gift cards. They like the idea when consumers come in to use the gift cards, there is a good chance the consumer will want to use the entire gift card balance and even spend more than the gift card.

Department Store Credit Cards

Everyone knows when the holiday season approaches, many department stores offer zero-percent financing or an additional percent off for consumer purchases. A survey conducted by Roper Public Affairs, stated that when consumers were asked how likely they are to make a major purchase this holiday season using either a zero-percent financing or a no payments/no interest offer, fewer than two in ten (18 percent) say it is very likely that they will. Additionally, 71 percent responded that if they were to take advantage of such an offer, they would plan to pay off the total due before incurring any interest charges.

This same survey also found a correlation between age and income level. Ninety-five percent of consumers 65 and older say they are highly unlikely to take advantage of store credit card offers. Twenty-five percent of consumers with household incomes $50 k or greater say they are very likely to take advantage of such an offer. Eighty-one percent of consumers with household incomes $50 k or greater say they would pay off the whole purchase before the interest is due.

If you choose to take advantage of such deals, make sure you pay the purchase off as quickly as possible. Department store credit cards are known for charging ridiculously high interest rates after the promotional offer expires. If this happens to you, the initial savings you received on the product when you first bought it will turn into a net loss, especially if you rack up late payment fees. Online Shopping

Federal Trade Commission (FTC) offers tips for safe online shopping

Know the seller. Confirm the online seller's address and phone number incase of problems

Know exactly what you are buying. Look out for descriptions like "refurbished," "vintage," or "close out." These terms may indicate that the products are not in mint condition.

Compare prices of the same product on different website.

Check the privacy policy to make sure the website will not share your personal information with anyone.

Pay with a credit card. Credit cards offer consumers the most protection. Do not send cash!

Use a secure browser. Buy only from websites that offer secure payments.

Consider shipping and handling costs.

Print records of your online transactions. (receipts, confirmation e-mails, bank statements, etc.).

Understand the return policy.

Check delivery dates. A FTC rule requires sellers to ship items as promised or within 30 days after the order date.

Retail store information for 2006

According to Forbes.com, here are their holiday picks. Specialty stores like Victoria's Secret, Coach and Aeropostale, will do very well because consumers want premium products. Another specialty store Gap, is introducing their limited edition "Product Red" clothing line just in time for the holidays. Product Red is being promoted by Oprah Winfrey and Bono to raise money for AIDS victims in Africa. Forbes.com says Product Red will bring a whole new customer to Gap stores, some who have not shopped there in years. Huge stores like Wal-Mart and Target have already shown a holiday shopping increase in October. Wal-Mart is now selling top notch electronics such as High Definition (HD) televisions. JC Penny is also expected to do well due their large advertising budget and their "Red Box" holiday campaign. The Red Box campaign will feature 20 30 items in advertisement across the whole country.

Protecting your purchases

If you decide to shop with a credit card, choose one that offers a purchase protection plan. There may be an instance that you buy a product that you do not want or a product that breaks or falls apart. Since many stores have a no-return or return for store credit only policy, you are usually out of luck. This is when purchase protection plans come in. If you shop with a credit card that offers return protection, you can receive reimbursement for the purchase price even if the store of origin has a no-return policy. Return protection programs typically involve a limit on the amount per item and an annual limit for the cardholder. Other qualifications such as the condition of the purchased item and the existence of any return/satisfaction guarantee programs at the store may apply. These plans also offer manufacturer's extended warranties. You may not need to buy additional warranties on major purchases because some credit card companies will extend the terms of the original manufacturer's warranty. This service could save you the expense of purchasing extended warranty programs. Make sure you familiarize yourself with coverage restrictions before making your final decision.

Find the Right Products to Sell on the Internet!

One of the most common questions I am asked is "What do I sell on the internet?"

Well, the answer depends a lot on your personality and HOW you want to sell. In other words, the first question should not be "what sells well on the internet", but "what method of selling am I most comfortable with?"

There are essentially three ways to sell products on the internet. Lets look at each method and the see the advantages and disadvantages of each.

First Method: Buy Wholesale and Sell Retail

This method is as old as human history. Find a product your niche wants, locate a wholesale source for that product, set up your online home business, advertise the product on your web site and ship the product to your customer.

Advantages:

1. You maintain complete control over the sales and delivery process.

You decide how much to mark up the wholesale price, not someone else. You also have control over when the item is shipped to your customer, not someone else halfway across the country!

2. You can shop around for the best wholesale price.

3. You can recommend your other products when someone purchases your product.

Disadvantages:

1. You will end up shipping packages everyday.

2. You will have to pay upfront for inventory and have a place to store it in your home.

3. Since others will be selling the same thing you are, you must be able to out-market your competition.

Second Method: Recommend Products for a Commission

This is also called affiliate marketing. You recommend someone elses product using a special hyper-link called an affiliate link. When your visitor clicks on that link, the visitor is taken to the other persons product page, but a cookie tracks the link to you. If a sale results, you get a commission. There is a lot of affiliate marketing information online.

Commissions can range from 5% of an order for camping gear to 50% of an information product priced at $1500! Affiliate marketing works for physical products, services, ebooks and anything else under the sun.

The key is finding product owners that see the value in sharing a percentage of the sale with those willing to be volunteer sales people for their product. Product owners that see the value of residual income with an online business.

Advantages:

1. You do not have to ship the product - the owner of the product takes care of that. In fact, the owner of the product creates the sales page, collects the money, ships the product and handles the questions and refunds.

2. You do not have to keep the product in inventory

3. Some commissions can be VERY generous.

Disadvantages:

1. If the product owner has an affiliate program, other people will be selling the exact same product. You must out-market other people and even the owner to make significant sales. You can not merely put up a link and forget about it if you want to make sales!

2. You have no control over the price of the product, the effectiveness of the sales page or the delivery of the product.

3. Although most product owners are honest and want to keep their affiliates happy, you have no leverage when it comes to getting paid. You do not control the money.

Third Method: Create your own product.

This is my favorite way to make money every day online! Once you learn to start an online business, creating your own products is a great way to follow your passion AND sell products that no one else is selling!

Advantages:

1. You have complete control over the sales and delivery process. You determine the price for your own product and you can even cut out the delivery costs be creating a downloadable product.

2. You will gain a huge sense of satisfaction, not to mention instant expert status!

3. You can find a need and then meet it. Creating your own product allows you to be very flexible and meet a targeted need in a very specialized niche.

4. There is no competition for your particular product. You are the ONLY ONE selling your products, unless you allow others to sell it for you, but you have complete control.

Disadvantages:

1. You can waste a lot of time and money if you have not researched your niche properly.

2. You must find a daily source of new customers.

3. You must find others to help promote your product.

So there you have it - the three basic methods of selling products on the internet. Hopefully, you can look at the advantages and disadvantages of each and determine which method is right for you. But dont stop with just one. Incorporate all three methods into your online business and you will have a strong, diverse business that whether any economic storm!

Smart Rookie Poker Player

Trying to have some luck on a casino table is not just mere sitting on comfortable chair watching the cards to be laid down. There are rules to be followed and strategies for a sure win. A veteran poker player knew all about these. And they maximize their strategies to take advantage of the rookie players.

The veterans or masters of that field could easily spot a new comer in that particular field. In a casino table, a poker newbie is not exempted. A veteran poker player could easily determine a poker newbie. Watch out, they will dig every single penny in your pocket.

There are techniques for us to disguise and go along with these master-poker players undetermined.

Be observant

An example mistake a rookie commits is the string betting a player call a bet and then make a raise. Then followed by familiar action indicating that you are a rookie player. These actions will then use by the matured poker player to take advantage of you during the game. Within the thoughts of this seasoned poker player, he/she is laughing at you and the same time, use some strategies unfamiliar to you through out the game.

The traditional pattern in calling a bet - announce that you are going to raise first before pushing your bet, anticipating the possible raise your opponent might call. Chain reactions will occur. Chances are, you will not be treated as rookie poker player.

Control Your Emotions

A seasoned poker player will determine if your card standing is good or not. By way of body language, through emotions and facial expressions you are showing, a seasoned poker player will know if you will raise a bet or not. This is a disadvantage on your part and an advantage on your opponent.

Incidentally, a rookie poker player will manifest a familiar facial expression on the first time he looks on his cards. The expression that will manifest on your face will show, telling to your opponent if you have good or not good enough cards to bet on.

Furthermore, the first time you look at your cards and you become happy, it shows that you have nice cards to compete within that round, but if you frown and displeased, it shows that you dont have good cards to play. In addition, you are announcing the status of your cards.

Every veteran on the table can pick a hint on your actions. These actions will be used against you. Even the smallest action of the hand will manifest during the game expressing something, giving additional hints about your cards whether they are competitive or not.

These seasoned poker players knew everything within or around the table. A manifestation of a simple hint of advantage will be of great deal to them. In fact, they are patient in waiting for these hints. Furthermore, they knew every player they had competed before and also remember some anecdotes that had been shown during the game.

Unless you go to casinos just to divert your attention from stressful weekdays, and have some fun and you have lots money to bet on. But every poker player wants to win the game so as persons going to casino, to have some luck.

Every person who succeeded in his or her chosen endeavor had worked hard for it. They exerted extraordinary effort and sacrifices. In the poker game, the word lucky is always mentioned because the luck depends on the cards you receive, yet there are strategies for us to win the game.

You, as poker rookie should remember the ROI (return of investment) that being new in the game, you will loose on the first, second or even on the following game. The same scenario, its just like you are investing on it. On the following games, you will surely win because youve learned already the proper protocol of the game.

Although these things dont assure the possibility that you will loss or win the game, the best thing to do in a first-time situation is to take precaution. Every opponent is looking a point for him to take advantage of the other. Be smart and be the first to find that hole.

Replica Sunglasses: What Makes Their Benefits

The eyes are said to be the windows of the soul. They are so expressive that they can surpass what words cant give. Designer sunglasses can call anyones attention especially to their eyes. They are a hot commodity around the world because everybody looks cool in designer sunglasses. They can even represent a status symbol for those who are planning or wishing to promote these symbols. Millions of people want to wear designer sunglasses to be able to stand out from the crowd. They are a major status symbol and are more popular in their features such as the quality, style and durability. But these designer sunglasses are just for people who can afford them. A person who cant afford them thinks that they are just too expensive to buy.

These designer sunglasses come with a price that merely a few has the capability to purchase them. Their classy look comes with a fashionable style which made them an essential key in fashion accessories.

On the other hand, for many people replica sunglasses are less expensive and are of the knock-offs style. They can compensate the budget that other people are mostly thinking about, making them their best option. Some of the retailers offer replica sunglasses and other versions of replica designer sunglasses just to expand their customer base to those with thinner accounts.

Some people may wonder why replica sunglasses are priced so low. Well the answer is clearly visible. That inferior quality of material, the designing of the frames which are so shoddy and those fake claims which includes their polarization ability and photochromatic ability which enables these manufacturers to sell them at discounted rates. Their only effort that they put a lot of time with is to maintain that same look as the original do. Replica sunglasses manufacturers can save lots of their money with research. Their research is just to pick up any original product and study them further. As well as educating themselves on the websites of these original products and copying it, they can benefit from it. The money that was saved from research is so very helpful that they may come like the original look and in its quality.

These replica sunglasses are sold everywhere. They are sold on discount stores, on dollar shops, or even the most visible of them all, the street side vendors. It is obvious that they carry or offers no guarantee of a warranty. Some of them may come without some proof of purchase. As a buyer always remember that these sellers makes no claim if the product may be uncertified and unreliable. The sales of these replica sunglasses are disadvantageous to some of the manufacturers who produce such replicas or duplicates. Distributing and providing these replicas may prove to be may provide an increase in the sales. Replica Sunglasses provides temporary elation that comes with a very cheap price. But it is advisable not to go with some of these replicas for they give less protection to the eyes or they may even worsen your eyesight.

They are One But Not as God

The verse 30 of chapter 10 of the book of John is one of the popular verses ued by Christians who believe Christ as God to back up their belief. SOme of them use this verse to prove that Christ is the Father and the Father is Christ, as if, they are one in number. Some of them also use this to prove that Christ and the Father, although different and distinct persons, but are one God.

However, if we will examine the Bible, we will learn that this verse couldn't be used to backup their claims, because what was written in that verse was the words of Christ saying, "I and My Father are one" (John 10:30). It was not written on that verse that "Christ and His Father are one God" nor "Christ and His Father are one in numbe"r. These are only their conclussion after reading Christ declaration that He and His Father are one.

They should know that Christ and the Father are not one in number because according to Christ, they are two.

16But if I do judge, my decisions are right, because I am not alone. I stand with the Father, who sent me. 17In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two men is valid. (John 8:16-17, NIV)

And that Christ and the Father are not one God because according to Christ Himself, the Father is the ONLY TRUE GOD.

1After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. 2For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. 3Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent. (John 17:1-3, ibid)

The real meaning of the declaration of Christ in John 10:30, that "He and His Father are one" is clearly explained by Brother Jose J. Ventilacion through his article, "Was Jesus Claiming to be One and the same as God?", published in Pasugo - God's Message dated June 2006, a Volume 58 and Number 6 issue, pages 14-16.

He explained that the equivalent Greek term of the word ONE on that verse is en (hen), the third one and in neuter in gender, which signifies oneness in action not in person. It is also the Greek term used in John 17:21 when Christ prayed "that they may be one" and in Ephesians 5:4 in the phrase "one baptism".

That is why some English translation render the verse:

"My Father and I are united." (Simple English Bible)

"My Father and I are united." (International English Bible)

"I and My Father are of one accord." (Lamsa Translation)

Therefore, using this verse (John 10:30) to prove that Christ is God will only show their ignorance of the truth.

Your Guide to Saving on Major Appliances

Saving is one of the most important things to consider in budgeting. Whether you are a parent of two or three or a student or a independent planning to move to a different place, saving should always be put as a number one priority.

For example, moving into a new area requires basic household appliances such as fridge, washing machine, stove, and heater. Normally, these appliances would cost you thousands of dollars if one would not consider some of the cost-effective tips in buying major appliances.

With that being said, below are just some of the cost-effective and saving tips in purchasing new appliances for your new abode.

a. Evaluate your Wants and Needs. Appliances will always be part of our daily lives but with a starter, one would have to evaluate and think about the most important household appliances to buy.

First, think about the things that you should need when moving to a new house. Would you prefer buying a fridge in favor of a new sofa? A convenient icemaking machine against a reasonable fridge?

While these add-ons are important, this should also require a lot of thinking in order to keep all those that are important and set aside those that will provide luxury. Worth mentioning is the amount of electricity that one has to consume when using these add-on products.

b. Size accommodating your newly purchased electrical appliances can be fun if you have enough or available space. It isn't wise to purchase a huge refrigerator when you only have few square inches of space available for your immediate kitchen needs.

For families, parents should also take into consideration the type of appliances, which will be able to supply all the needs for the family. A 5.0-kilogram washer would definitely not suffice in a family of 5. In such cases, one would have to consider purchasing those that are of heavy-duty type of major appliances.

You will considerably save more on buying in bulk and heavy-duty type than one which won't accommodate most of the clothing used for a week by a single person alone. Moreover, the amount of electricity used will also be cut by half.

c. Consult with Comparison Shops. The 1999 Consumer Literacy Consortium report provides enough reason for consumers to compare price around before they do the actual purchasing on major appliances.

Basically, for people who are determined to make the purchase, they would usually shop on a single appliance center and don't bother to shop around and compare prices at nearby stores.

The consumer report provided information about the benefits of comparing prices on the market before doing the actual buying and the importance of shopping online for auctions and sales.

More often than not, leveraging on secondhand appliances is better than procuring a new one specially when one would look into similar features and durability standard. This intelligent buying will save you hundreds of dollars as expected and allot savings to other home stuffs which in turn provides additional luxury in your part.

d. Annual Buying Guide Local libraries today keep some records of buying guides and ratings and prices on some of the major appliances nationwide. These buying guides and consumer literacy reports provides exclusive and substantial information on performance (durability), price, and quality among other things.

The report also maintain a database where you can compare prices from coast to coast and details on handling and packaging of merchandises should one would interest on buying them.

e. Where to Buy Sometimes, it isn't about the name of the merchandiser that matters when stuffing your home with major appliances. Its about how you would search the local market and the net to find shopping exclusives and sales of appliance items whose features and performance match specifically to the needs and wants of your family.

These buying techniques won't only free you on your budget but provides you additional leverage on saving for future appliance need.

f. Negotiate In almost every part of the selling process, negotiation takes place when you would interest on purchasing the item after making a careful review of its features. Getting the best bet lies in your ability to making compromises.

Most stores would drop prices when needed and when the customer asks for it and when one is purchasing refurbished items.

The Safest Car Seat

You just devoted nine months of you life to creating new life. This was probably one of the biggest changes thus far. Now you look at that beautiful new baby and think, "What do I need to do to keep this infant safe?"

A car seat is by far one of the most important purchases you will make for this baby. Which seat is the safest? All infants should ride rear-facing until they have reached at least one year of age and at least 20 pounds.

"So what if my baby reaches 20 pounds before age one?" you think. You should keep your child rear facing until both age and weight apply.

When purchasing your babies first car seat you have two choices: Infant only seats and convertible seats. Convertible seats can be used for your infant and then after 20 pounds and one year they can convert to forward facing. Infant only seats have a built in harness that cover the infants upper torso. They can only be used for infants up to 20 pounds. However, many come with a detachable base that can be left in the car and make for easier transportation.

Whichever seat you choose, just remember these safety tips. Always use a car seat. Never place your child in the front seat, especially if there is an airbag. Always read the owners manual. Be a good example and wear you safety belt.

Accidents do happen, but you can do your part to keep your child safe. Always put your child in his/her car seat and make sure it is securely fastened. Wear you safety belt. No matter which car seat you choose it is up to you to use it properly and keep the child safe.

Stomping Authority Of Women Acknowledged By E-Tailers

If the news of there being more female millionaires than men in the age group of 18-44 in UK couldnt stir the strategic poise of online shopping portals, the recent figures released by National Statistics ascertain the requisite involvement of female section of society in online shopping definitely would.

The gender pay gap (as measured by the median hourly pay) narrowed between 2005 and 2006 to its lowest value since records began and it is reflected through the fact that the median hourly rate for men went up 3.7 per cent to 11.71, while the rate for women increased by 4.2 per cent to 10.24, as published by National Statistics.

Purchasing power of people likely to buy a product and consumption of it has always remained the two most critical determinants in the success or failure of it. Medium connecting these two ends of the same spectrum is the essence of any transaction carried thereafter. With the increasing trend in online shopping (still 10% of retail shopping) and the advent of Cashback portals, market witnesses stiff competition in terms of influencing the consumers making way for novel ideas and their application.

Trends have always been a function of facts and vice-versa. Projecting themselves among female gender and dedicating categories specifically catering to them (flowers, kids stuff, home &garden etc.) is certainly not an adventitious move but a well measured step transpired under the effect of above mentioned facts and figures. It augurs well for consumers as well as these portals, if integrated with an earnest approach.

What's Your Motive In Giving To God?

Rush hour commutes, soccer practice for the kids, extra work from the office and the everyday demands of live in a culture awash in activities and time demands is posing a serious dilemma for churches across the country.

People are so busy that they simply don't have time to serve on church committees or work in church service projects.

How much do you care about the church?

About Gods people? How much of your time is spent helping givingpraying for your church? A lot of people give money to the church but much less give themselves.

There are a lot of reasons that move people to give to the church. I know that some people give as a write-off so that they will get a break on the taxes they pay to the government. If that is your only motive for giving, it is not a proper one.

A tax write-off is just not enough. That is not going to help you any with God.

Some people give to the church to gain a reputation for giving.

The Bible truth of the matter is that God really isn't interested in our money. Oh, don't get me wrong. The Bible says we are supposed to give. But it's our heart condition that God is most interested in.

In fact, even more than money, he wants us to give our time, our prayers and our service to the institution he's created to be his hands and feet on this earth: The church.

There are Bible stories galore about the consequences of not supporting the church.

It is striking that the very first death recorded in the church occurred when a couple, Ananias and Sapphira, decided they would gain a reputation for giving that they did not really deserve.

In the fifth chapter of Acts we read that other people were giving property. This couple thought they would get in on the honor and prestige that was being heaped on those who generously gave, so they gave some of the proceeds from tome land they sold. But they pretended that they gave all of it when they really did not.

When the Holy Spirit dealt with that hypocritical kind of giving he dealt very severely with it.

Some people give because they were afraid of dying and they want to make Brownie points with God.

There have been people who give hundreds of thousands of dollars because they felt it would help them in their standing before God at the judgment seat. But they were not giving to help the cause of God or the church. They gave because they thought they could buy Gods favor.

All these are wrong motives.

When it comes to giving, motive is more important than the amount.

God is not so interested in how much you give the church, but why you give. Do you love the church? Thats the example we have from Christ.

More than 24 million seniors collectively volunteer 6 billion hours each year in the United States. Researchers at the University of Michigan recently discovered that the survival rate of seniors who volunteered 40 or more hours a year for a single cause was 40 percent greater than that of non-volunteers.

"Seniors who volunteer say it improves their health, life satisfaction, and social well-being," says Donna Thurmond, director of Senior Services for Volunteers of America.

So helping others and serving as Jesus commands us to do is not only a good thing to do, it's good for us.

In fact, we were all created with a desire to serve. That's why it feels so good when we do so, because it's what we were made to do.

But the real reason we serve is because that is what Jesus did. that's the example he lefty us in the Bible.

We know it as the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you'd have them do to you.

Ideas For Starting An Internet Business

After the third of my four daughters left the nest, I realized I was being forced into retirement. So I decided to go on a job hunt. My career as a full-time mother was about over. I had received the equivalent of the gold watch. The only daughter left at home was well into high school. Circumstances and my daughters were telling me, Time for a CHANGE. I started with revving up my selling on eBay. After a few months I was at Powerseller status. By then I had run out of things to sell around my house. Tim (my husband) wont miss that lamp, will he? One can get really caught up in selling on eBay.

I had to start to find other items to sell online. My English professors would be proud of the massive research I did to find products for my eBay site. I attacked searching for items to sell like I would have my ex-husbands mistress. Countless hours were spent hunting down leads to wholesalers of lingerie, ladies clothing, and collectibles. My searching was successful and I spend a few years selling massive amounts of them. The secret is to keep your eyes open to new trends and the latest thing. Be flexible and ready to move with the market.

With eBay there is a large investment of time and money. There are listing fees, final value fees, gallery photos and other upgrades for your listings. Also, the shipping can be tiresome. I dont mean to discourage anyone, just caution that it is a large investment of time to run an eBay site or store. EBay is a wonderful place to START your Internet presence. But dont let it end there.

What one needs to have a solid Online Internet Business presence is multiple streams of income. The best way to do that is to sign up to be an affiliate for different companies. An affiliate is somewhat like a Sales Representative. You represent a company and introduce people to their products and services. In return you get a percentage of the sales. This can be a one time payment such as with the company SeizeCars, http://pattymo698.netcom3.hop.clickbank.net which is an auction site for government seized cars, boats and vessels. They have all makes and models for sale up to 95% off retail. Listings are guaranteed in every state.

Other companies have many levels of residual payments. For instance Success University, http://www.pbrady1.successuniversity.com/slim pays out commissions on a multilevel matrix. Success University offers a wonderful opportunity to LEARN the principles of success while being able to earn excellent profits. No one ever teaches us HOW to be wealthy or HOW to find success. A little secret here, it is in our attitude if we think it and believe it, we WILL achieve it. Success University offers courses in Finances, Real Estate, Fitness, Self Improvement, Sales and many more aspects of a successful life.

Another excellent opportunity in affiliate marketing is a company called SFI, http://www.moreinfo247.com/9674085/free . Their products range from all natural cleaners for the home, health supplements, long distance phone service, broadband internet cell phone service, to merchant financial solutions. SFIs compensation plan is very good. You get credit for every person who signs up after you in SFI. This means that you get a check monthly for as long as you are in the program. Within a month I had over 40,000 people under me in all countries in the world. This is not to be confused with the commissions you get for your personally enrolled affiliates, it is an added bonus.

Do Not stop at one source of income for your online business. The Internet is YOUNG. Get in now and grow with it. Each of the sites I talked about offer many marketing strategies that can be used in all Internet businesses. Success University and SFI offer free websites, banners, forums, ezine articles, newsletters, and best of all step-by-step training in Online Internet Business, Home Based Business, and specifically their company.

Click on these sites to learn more about these affiliate programs. They offer magnificent opportunities to achieveAchieve what? That is up to YOU.

Wedding Cake - Bakery Tips

These tips will help you with ordering your wedding cake.

I would suggest printing this page and taking it with you to the bakery.

Dont forget to take the picture of the wedding cake to the bakery. Talk with the pasty chef/baker and ask him or her for recommendations on designs and flavors of the cake. She may have suggestions that you may not have thought of.

Article Body:

Wedding cake bakeries will have a cake portfolio to look at and that will help you decide if they are able to make the cake you want.

Have an idea of how many guests you will have at your reception, this will help determine the amount of wedding cake you will need or number of cupcake wedding cakes. The pastry chef/cake decorator may ask how many invitations are being sent to how many people and how many are from out of town or from more than a certain number of miles away.

The pastry chef/cake decorator will use this information to calculate how many people will actually show up at the reception and how many of those will actually eat a piece or more of cake.

By this time several people, such as the minister and caterer, will have asked for this information. They will have calculated and told you how many people they think will actually attend your wedding and reception.

You will have been appalled at the low number they came up with. You know that everyone you invite is waiting breathlessly to attend your wedding and that only those who are ill or incapacitated or on Moon will pass up the chance to wish you well in person on your big day. When the baker comes up with a similar number, believe him because its true.

Many people will simply forget and others can think of no way worse to spend a summer Saturday than at another wedding. Thats just the way it is. And you can believe it and save some money, or you can believe that everyone will come and then have to decide what to do with the leftover cake.

Do whatever will do the most to put your mind at ease for the next six to eight months. Saving money by ordering only a sufficient amount of cake based on the years of experience of your baker is no good if you are going to fret over it and be nervous about it for more than half a year.

Sleeping well, feeling good and setting your mind at ease before your big day is a lot more important than saving money and having no leftovers. You will have enough to go crazy with as your wedding approaches.

When in wedding cake bakery, be clear about the date, time, and location of the wedding and receptions; set deadlines for changes to the cake design and size and for delivery; provide the address of and a map to the reception.

Make sure that the cake can be delivered at a time convenient to you or whomever you will have to receive and inspect the cake.

There should be a written contract with the wedding cake bakery to specify the size, shape, flavor, color, decorations, delivery day, delivery time, delivery place, and price of wedding cake.

Such a contract, of course, does not need a special form or a lawyer to draw it up. It can be a simple list with this information. The list should be dated and signed by both the baker and you, and you should each have a copy.

Many wedding cake bakeries have their own form for such orders because it is as important to them that you remember exactly what you asked for and dont remember asking for something that you never mentioned as it is to you that they deliver what you did ask for.

If they have their form, use it and add any items or information that you need to. Make sure you take a copy of their form.

Bring swatches of material to match the cake to your wedding colors because colors in pictures are often slightly off and a pictures colors can fade with time. (But again, dont forget the picture of the wedding cake.)

Below you will find list of questions you should ask the pastry chef, baker, or cake decorator at the wedding cake bakery. It is your special day you have every right to ask questions!

Questions to ask at the bakery:

(Suggestion: print these questions, you will certainly need them)!

1. Can pastry chef/cake decorator create custom cake from your instructions and to look like your wedding-cake picture.

2. What flavors of wedding cake and icing are available? Or if you already have an idea what you want, ask "Can you make a (type of cake) with (flavor of icing)?"

3. Ask to sample some of the bakery's cakes. If you don't care for any of the cake samples offered by the bakery, ask for additional samples or as what other choices are available.

Even if you have to order a small cake to try the baker's version of what you want, it is a small price to pay for satisfaction.

4. In case you want to use fresh flowers to decorate the wedding cake, ask if the bakery can provide them or if you or a florist must deliver them.

5.Request to see pictures of wedding cakes from their photo gallery. Take a look at their album and see if you like the looks of the cakes. Ask how old the pictures are and if the person who baked and decorated these cakes is the same person who will create yours.

6. Does the bakery, baker, pastry chef, or cake decorator has the required licenses and has passed health inspections. Licensing varies from state to state, but a bakery is probably required to be licensed as a retail food establishment or as a food preparer.

The health department of the city, county, or state probably issues licenses. The baker, pastry chef, and decorator may also be required to be licensed or qualified as a food handler.

You can go to most states' web sites and find out just what licensing is required so that you know what to ask for.

Most bakeries will gladly let you look at the kitchen to see where the cake will be mixed, baked, decorated, and stored; this is probably as satisfying as seeing the licenses.

You should probably ask to take a peek at the kitchen after asking about the licenses. You can also ask to see the results of the latest health inspection.

7. If you simply don't like frozen food and don't want it served at your wedding, ask if the wedding cake will be frozen. But understand that some people believe the taste of several cakes improves after freezing.

8. Ask how long before the wedding date the cakes will be prepared and how they will be kept until time for delivery. If you think the time or the method of storage will result in the bridal cake not being as fresh as you want, express your feeling to the person you are talking with.

He or she either will explain or demonstrate that this will not be a problem or will negotiate a shorter length of storage. She may let you sample some cake kept for that length of time. Some cakes keep well when frozen, and others do not.

Pound cakes and some carrot cakes seem to improve with freezing. If you are not satisfied and cannot reach some agreement, you must use another bakery.

9. To find how much time and attention will be spent on your cake, ask how many orders the bakery typically has for the weekend of your order and how many of those your pastry chef might be producing.

A large volume can be an indication that not a lot of time and attention can be devoted to your cake. But a very busy bakery also indicates that many people like its products and trusts its work. Wedding cake bakery that no one likes will have plenty of time to dedicate to your cake, but that alone will not guarantee good results.

Neither will a very busy bakery guarantee good results all the time. For one, you may need to check with them during the week of production to make sure that things are going well.

For the other, you may want to check to make sure that your order has not somehow been overlooked among so many orders. In either case verify that your cake is in the process of being prepared.

10. Ask if the decorator is experienced and good and if he or she decorated the cakes pictured in the bakery's gallery.

The point of such a question is to find out whether you will be getting the best the bakery has to offer and whether you will be served by the same personnel that did the work seen in the bakery's photo album and for the references you will contact.

You may be satisfied that all decoration is supervised by a master decorator with long experience and excellent references, even though the actual work may be done by one of several less experienced decorators.

11. Ask to be introduced to each of the people who will bake, decorate, and deliver the cake. You may have questions you want to ask. If you do, ask them.

For example, you might be concerned with the experience each one has. If so, you might ask how many cakes they have baked or decorated. I might be more concerned to simply ask whether they did the cakes in the bakery's album of cakes.

If you have no questions, ask to meet them anyway. Introduce yourself and try to make it easy for them to remember your name and your face. Show a great pleasure at meeting the people who have created the wonderful masterpieces that have come from this bakery and tell them that you look forward to having them create your wedding cake.

What you are creating is a personal relationship with these artists at the wedding cake bakery. Like all workers and artists, these people like being appreciated and will do their best work for someone who has praised them and treats them as a master of their craft.

This goes as well for the person taking your order, whether it is the owner, manager, or just the order taker. I suggest that you work to make as good an impression on them as you expect them to try to make on you. Dress well when you are shopping for a bakery.

You don't have to dress like you're meeting the Queen or the First Lady, but don't be dressing like you're about to be hitting the bars with your friends on your bachelorette party--not unless you dress a lot better for that than most of the young women in my neighborhood.

Please try to time your visits so that the bakery is not crowded with customers. This is particularly important in smaller bakeries.

12.If you are concerned, ask whether the cake be made from scratch or from packaged mixes. Packaged mixes are so much more expensive that few busy bakeries would use them. And if they produce the wedding cake you want and it tastes good, do you care whether it's from a mix or from scratch?

13. Ask what the price will be. If the baker can give you an estimate but not the final cost, ask how much the final cost might vary from the estimate.

If the baker says that they will charge by how long it takes because they charge by the hour, ask how many hours it will take and do the calculation yourself.

Again, if it's an estimate of hours, ask how far the hours might vary from that estimate. If you feel uncomfortable with the bakery's commitment to giving you a number, maybe you should find another bakery.

14. Ask for customer references so that you can talk to with them. Then actually contact them and ask about their experience with the bakery.

While they were probably very pleased with the bakery (otherwise you'd think the bakery would not be giving them as a reference), they may give you some pointers about how best to deal with the bakery.

15. Request a written proposal that includes the size of the cake, the flavor, the icing type and flavor, the description of the cake: Number of tiers or number of cupcakes or miniature cakes, decorations, the date and time the cake would be ready, whether it would be delivered and where and when, and the price.

Some bakeries will put all of this in a proposal and some will commit to just the basic items. Press for commitment to everything that is important to you.
